Who Are Crew4Superyachts...?
Crew4Superyachts is managed by Rachel Simms who has extensive experience in the yachting industry.
Please read on to find out more about her experiences over the past 8 years in yachting, to see why she is the best person to help you on your journey into becoming a part of this exciting industry:
June 2002 – Rachel completed a super yacht stewardess skills training course, which included such skills as silver service, laundry and housekeeping, wine service and canapé and
cocktail preparation, enabling her to begin her yachting career with all the expertise needed for one of these highly sought after junior crew member positions – with this course she was ahead of the
game before she even began.
July 2002 – Due to her training, Rachel gained her first super yacht position immediately on board a 50 meter super yacht based in Monaco, where she was lucky enough to take in the
sights of Cannes, St.Tropez and Corsica as junior stewardess on board this busy charter yacht, before returning to the UK for the winter. This was only a seasonal position, but Rachel realised
yachting was definitely for her and so planned to return for the next Mediterranean season.
April 2003 – Rachel returned to Antibes in the south of France, gaining a position immediately on board a 60 meter Mediterranean based super yacht as a second stewardess. After completing a busy charter season sailing the Mediterranean along such gems as Corsica, Capri, Sicily, St.Tropez and Monaco, Rachel completed her first Atlantic crossing, a gruelling 3 week trip across the ocean to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
October 2003 – Whilst in America, Rachel was offered the once in a lifetime opportunity to work as a stewardess on an exclusive private island estate in the Bahamas, where she spent
three weeks ensuring a high profile celebrity and his guests received the best possible service whilst holidaying on the island, and that their every need was catered to.
Nov 2003 – After proving herself in the industry Rachel gained her first chief stewardess position on board a 35 meter Motor yacht based in the US, where she found herself sailing
along the entire East coast of the US, stopping of in New York and Rhode Island, through Canadian Lochs to reach her final destination of Chicago. This was a busy charter yacht, and as Rachel’s first
chief stewardess role was a great challenge to her - a busy charter yacht with weekly parties for 80+ people – Rachel was really thrown in at the deep end! During her time on board a popular reality
TV show was filmed, with Rachel making an appearance on the show showing off her silver service and champagne pouring skills! After numerous successful charters Rachel decided it was time for a
holiday, and returned to the UK for a well earned break!
August 2004 – Not being able to be away from the yachting industry for long, Rachel was offered a position in South America as chief stewardess on board a 50 meter vessel. She was
flown to Mexico where she spent 8 months working on board a private super yacht with the most amazing crew, and not only did she get to experience the sights and sounds of Mexico, but get to explore
Costa Rica and Acapulco, as well as taking the trip of a lifetime through the Panama canal

May 2005 – Another year another yacht and another transatlantic crossing for Rachel, this time as Chief Stewardess on board the super yacht of a high profile American owner. During this year the owner received his Lifetime Achievement Award at the Emmy’s, where he was proudly cheered on by the crew watching back on board (an accolade he received in a tux smartly ironed by Rachel herself!). So Rachel’s role morphed from a regular chief stewardess role into one of organising television appearances and other press events for the owner – a really exciting job in itself, and another cameo role on TV for Rachel! After sailing the Caribbean islands of St. Maarten, St. Barts, Antigua and the Virgin Islands Rachel got offered the position of a lifetime...
January 2006 – Rachel finally reached her goal of working in Australia, a call from a Captain and she arrived in Cairns, Australia to begin a new chapter in her life. It was a
private 50 meter Feadship motor yacht and sailed across the pacific, to Papua New Guinea and on to her other home base of the Micronesian Islands (aka paradise!). Truly the job of a lifetime. Whilst
in Australia Rachel also managed to sail down the East coast all the way to Sydney, where, after a charter with members of the royal family, saw in 2007 underneath the Sydney Harbour
Bridge.
June 2007 – Rachel decided to return to land to work, and so, still in Australia, embarked upon a new challenge – she became certified to work as a trainer and assessor, and embarked upon a position as a recruitment and training officer for a super yacht crew agency, where she honed her skills in training candidates to become a part of this exciting industry.
May 2008 – Rachel’s final yacht job before the launch of Crew4Superyachts – this time seeing her on board a 38 meter charter and private motor yacht sponsored for the Monaco Grand Prix, where she had the chance not only to be a part of this exciting event, but to organise the television appearance of two of the biggest named racing drivers in the world for their interview on board. After the grand prix Rachel sailed the Mediterranean to Corsica, Sardinia, Capri as well as the Italian Riviera.
January 2009 – Crew4Superyachts was born, gaining press in the worldwide yachting crew magazines upon its launch. To date Rachel has trained many candidates, the majority of whom are
now pursuing their dreams and working on board super yachts worldwide.
October 2009-Feb 2010 - Rachel returned to the super yacht industry, to refresh her skills as super yacht chief stewardess, and after a temporary position in St.Maarten in the Caribbean returned to the UK ready for another season of training Crew4Superyachts Students.
August 2011 - Crew4Superyachts has expanded once again…Training is now taking place in the luxurious 5 star gold rated Sunnybank Guesthouse in the beautiful Holmfirth area of West Yorkshire, providing a truly hands-on experience. Training has never been better
